What we are looking for - Paper Street Media, LLC is seeking a FULL-TIME Video Colorist to join our post-production team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of color theory, and proficiency in color grading software. As a Video Colorist, you will be responsible for enhancing the visual quality of our video content, ensuring consistency and alignment with the creative vision of each project. This job is a REMOTE position.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Video Colorist is responsible for applying color correction and color grading techniques to film, video, and digital media to enhance the visual storytelling and achieve the desired final product.
  • Troubleshoot and solve color issues such as poor lighting, poor white balance,  mismatched shots with multiple cameras, constantly changing camera exposure and color balance while shooting. 
  • Find creative solutions to enhance poorly shot footage.
  • Working closely with producers and editors to ensure the final product aligns with the creative vision.
  • Ensure all final deliverables meet technical specifications and quality standards, including color consistency and visual coherence across different formats and platforms.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends, techniques, and technologies in color grading and visual effects to continuously improve skills and workflows.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Must Haves:

  • Proficiency in Color Grading Software
    • Adobe Premiere Pro Lumetri Tools (strongly preferred) and After Effects
    • DaVinci Resolve, including the workflow to go back and forth between Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve
  • Understanding of video scopes (Waveform, Vectorscope, RGB parade) to accurately analyze and adjust color balance and exposure.
    • Knowledge of LUTs (Look-Up Tables) and how to create and apply them effectively.
  • Knowledge of various video formats, resolutions, and codecs to ensure compatibility and optimal quality across different platforms.
  • Understanding of how cinematography, lighting, and camera settings affect the color and exposure of video footage.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to spot subtle differences in color and brightness, and maintain consistency in color grading across different shots and scenes.
  • Understanding of Color Theory and knowledge of color harmony, contrast, and the psychological impact of colors to enhance storytelling, including the ability to use color to evoke specific emotions and set the mood of a scene.
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively to allow for the downloading, exporting, and uploading of large media files.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years experience as a Colorist in film, television, or digital media production, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
  • A degree in Film, Media Production, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with reality TV style production and amateur video footage.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Experience working in the adult entertainment industry
  • Experience with Google Workspaces such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Sheets.
